I do some painting with acrylics and here are my "piano trees", it's actually quite a large canvas. I'm not very good with computers or cameras so the photo of the picture might not be very good (bit of a reflection in the centre!) but I'll try my best. Might be able to improve it later or show some of my other piano trees pictures ::P .

Those are great, Andy!
I really like the idea converting a tree into a piano.
The sprinkles of colour make this very lively, very good.

Do you paint on canvas or is it paper?

When photographing your pictures, better don't use a flash, if you haven't, change your angles as long as the reflection doesn't appear any longer. If this doesn't help, take it from the wall :whoa: and take the pic where no direct light falls upon it.

Thank you Equinox, I'm pleased you like them. :D Your paintings are really nice too. :D

Thanks for your advice. I only paint on canvas. I like the pattern of the keys and so all my paintings feature that pattern as the branches of the trees. It's a bit of a weird idea but then I'm a bit of a weird person.

No, it's not weird at all.

Art is free!

Mmm a piano tree Andy mate , looks easy but difficult mate if anyone else sees what i mean lol im no artist myself but im into songwriting as thats my passion for creativity in having a talent , if i was rubbish at it id try and be a snooker player and betetr snooker player lol
as i wanna be a well known songwriter , the only thing i can compare to your piano tree which like i said im no artist is that when i write words i see them as sorta lyrics branches like ive wrote stuff down which sounds good to figure out how i can make my words better as in like ill think on the words and make them grow like with what my words are mostly really saying for me to be happy with

Thanks Gary. Hmm..."lyrics branches"...Yes I think I see what you mean. like an organic creative process. I hope you succeed and become a well known songwriter. Then people might ask me if I can play any Gary Macrae on the piano. I'd say "Yes, and I knew him before he was famous too". :D

Well, not really. I'm having a break from piano work just at the moment (cancelled my gigs  )while I try to become a fully qualified accountant. There's not really that much work around for a lounge pianist in Bournemouth, although I've played in the top venues. Also I don't really read music or sing which limits my options on the work front. I just can't get on with reading music, I play off instinct and muscle memory. Infact you could say I had a "Ronnie" moment when I just became really demotivated to play piano. I'll be back playing but I need a break at the moment. Maybe I should see Steve Peters! :)

I do play snooker. Got a century once :D , but that was years ago, then I had a break and I'm not so good now, need to get practicing. I want to get another century before I die. ::P

Excellent!...

Something I found earlier on in my snooker playing career, involved keeping my composure under control. As with most players theres a tendency to want to flow. Nothing wrong with being on auto pilot but its when you begin to rush your shots and become wreckless it leads to the unexpected miss or loss on position. Players like Hendry Ebdon etc used to frequently ask for the white to be cleaned for this very reason. Kicks were also commonplace - If youve noticed its always during a tender moment in their visit, particularly when theres a possiblility of a frame or match winning break is @ their mercy. This ploy was was also used by some to deliberately slow the pace of play to stifle their opposition and to upset their rythm.

To avoid breaking down, what I used to do as I reached the 50-60 mark Id deliberately leave myself an easy shot on red or color and walk away from the table, light up a cig ( gave up the putrid habbit ) have a drink and found when I revisited the table I was faced with an unmissable pot and from there my inspiration in compiling a high break would heighten. I did this a number of times until I reached the ton and found it to be most helpful. An inbuilt sensation or trigger now occurs as I compile 50 odd the thought of a century immediately springs to mind and its a case of going all out for it.

Great feeling when it comes together.

A note on practice...without it its pretty hard to get 5 let alone 50 or a ton. Another thing I found was to get the ton you have to live it, breathe it, dream it, constantly think about about it for it to happen. Then one day BANG...its there!
