Even Steve Davis jumped on the band wagon. Is he really that daft? Both turned pro at same time, Ronnie is leading Hggins in nearly every department (especially major titles). What is hard to grasp here?

I think Davis is doing his best to big Higgins up to make him look like a model player but no matter what propaganda you throw out Davis, we know the truth.

Yeah well Daviss come on board and why do you think, because they all know JH intimately better than you or I and it comes back to the guys credibility...Match fixing just isnt in his makeup! >>> Have to admit though'the video was damaging.

As for head to head Id put Ronnie a shade infront although John does un-nerve Ronnie @ times when he hits his straps and produces some real form...at times you can tell when Ronnies ill @ ease with the prospect of having to play John by the look he gets on his face just prior to entering the arena. Theyre usually the occasions when John tends to get up. Its as if Ronnies psyched out of things before he even gets to the table.

Actually, Id go so far to say Johns a better match player and posesses more bottle than Ron but our mans more dangerous a player and as the records have shown slightly more consistent.

That's a big one for me... I've become a little annoyed at those claiming Higgins is better than O'Sullivan, because I feel they are really searching for excuses to place him ahead of Ronnie. I also feel the reaction to O'Sullivan being in the same situation as Higgins was as regards betting scandals would have been so different it would be sickening. Do you think O'Sullivan would have been raised to sainthood like Higgins was last night? You wish.

O'Sullivan has actually beaten Higgins in virtually every department, including major titles, over the same period of professional play and with far less effort. That, for me, puts O'Sullivan well ahead. Higgins has had to work his balls off... O'Sullivan has done that playing well within himself.

I was wondering if you still had that in you. And yes it is getting very annoying. Also, had O'sullivan done the same thing, the double standard would be amazing.

And in Rons defence Id say the same...Its not in his makeup either!

Update at 14 Dec 2010, 07:06

I wonder what sort of punishment was given to the crooked buggers that schemed things up in the first place...Theyre the bastards that should be attracting all the media attention not our sportspeople.

Closer scruitiny should be placed on betting syndicates and players so as to prevent match fixing from even being considered...Increased penalties for all concerned!

According to the idiots on other forums, 1 world title now equals 1 UK + 2 Masters+ all the other things Ronnie is ahead in. To quote

"Century counts don't matter at all"

Basically nothing matters in their opinion if Ronnie is involved. Whoever has the highest world title count (even by 1) is the best player, regardless of all other achievements, and that's like a 3 yr olds logic.

Far out Dan... > Who cares what ppl think...do your thing and thank God your a free spirit that challenges convention and is not relegated to follower status like the rest.

Having said that, everyones entitled to their opinion...Take road rage for example...one guy merges into a lane oblivious to whats about to unfold. He thinks hes navigated safely and keeping to speed. Whereas the other party. Headed for collision, becomes totally irate @ the prospect of being blatantly cut off as their lives are placed at risk. What happens, argument erupts and in some instances more agressive behaviour eventuates purely because both drivers have a differing perception of reality. One must remember, no one was elected as police judge and jury in these predicaments. Therein lies the problem. Intolerance and our inability to realize that road rules may sometimes be interpreted differently and that NO standard of behaviour can be relied upon when it comes to matters such as these. Conflict occurs at random and the only real way around things is that someone has to inject some sense into the argument.

Everyone thinks differently. Snooker Island is no exception..Its a forum representative of individuals that have a certain mindset which happens to be in disharmony with what you and the rest of the members on RRNET stand for. For whatever reason ...Im sure they think theyre correct in their views as indeed are we...Let it slide and focus on the things that matter!

Difference of opinion is cool :) It does bother me, however, when people debate something which simply has no debate, like this thread, because they don't like O'Sullivan.

I think that's a real pity...
